One pre-funded wallet per account. Every key spends from it, and the balance is the ceiling that always applies.
Adding funds#
- 1 Choose an amount on your wallet page.
- 2 We quote the total charged before you pay, including the card fee.
- 3 Pay through Stripe Checkout, with 3D Secure requested.
- 4 The credit lands when the payment settles — usually seconds.
There is no auto-top-up#
This is deliberate and it is the main safety property of the whole system. A pre-funded balance with no automatic refill means a runaway agent can spend at most what you have already decided to give it. There is no stored card to draw on and no overdraft.
The cost is that you can run dry mid-workload and start getting 402s. If you want warning before that happens, ask us to turn on low-balance notices — they are built, and off by default.
Seeing where it went#
- Movements itemise every charge, refund and top-up against the ledger, not against a cache.
- Per-key usage attributes spend to the key that made the call, which is why naming keys matters.
- Every figure is integer micro-USD as a string. See money is a string.
Refunds#
A refund for a failed call is automatic and appears as its own entry. The ledger is append-only, so a refund is a new row rather than an edit to the charge — you can always see both what was taken and what came back.
